o2.

Website proposal template

Consider this the perfect follow up document after your sales call.

Whip it up in a matter of minutes and get it across to your potential client while they are still excited.

Wow prospective clients with your professional process and communication skills. Clearly communicate the scope of a one-week website project to your client. Share more about your design studio and how you can help your client achieve their goals.

Template pages include: Cover page, Table of contents, Thank you note, Goals, Package inclusions and exclusions, Pricing and schedule, Important things to know about a one-week website (defining the scope and boundaries), Next steps, Working together (setting the expectations of how you work), About the studio, Studio values, Past client results

o3.

Key dates calendar

Give your clients a clear visual of what happens when.

The one-week website calendar clearly outlines when and what tasks your client and you are responsible for during the website build week.

You could also add this calendar to the welcome guide to give your client a visual of the key dates and timeline.

o4.

Welcome guide template

Onboard your clients swiftly, easily and professionally.

Clearly communicate expectations with your client, what they need to prepare to get the best result for their website, outline key dates and help your clients confidently complete their tasks to ensure they get everything to you on time so you can deliver on your promises.

Pair this document with the Website Starter Kit to take out all the guesswork and feel confident going into a new website project.

Template pages include: Cover page, Table of contents, Welcome note, Goals, Working together (setting the expectations of how you work), Project timeline, Key dates for your calendar, Preparing your website content, An overview of what’s inside the Website Starter Kit, Important notes for keeping the project on schedule, a handy checklist for the client to prepare all their content

o5.

Website starter kit

Ensure you’re asking for all the right things from your client, from the very beginning, with these helpful planners and questionnaires.

These are the exact documents I send to my clients to gather all the content and information needed for their website project.

Give your clients a structured format to follow to help them write copy that is going to get them results. Save yourself a whole heap of time by eliminating any ‘back and forth’ because of missing content and information.

Documents inside the kit include: Content Planner (using my best selling one-week website – Desert Dream – as an example), Image Checklist (again, using Desert Dream as an example), Branding Questionnaire, Technical Questionnaire and SEO Workbook

o6.

Website handover template

Off-board your client and handover their website in a way that leaves your client feeling confident and empowered.

Clearly communicate the terms of your support period and how you can be contacted to respect your personal downtime and keep support queries to business hours only.

Provide your client with next steps and create pathways of opportunities to reach back out to your client in the future for feedback, testimonials and additional projects.

Template pages include: Cover page, Table of contents, How to publish their website, Launching tips and tricks, Valued feedback (with a link to your survey), a handy launch checklist, Training and support options, Next steps / suggestions for your clients website.

One-week websites changed my business – and health

Hello there! I’m Alana – an Australian Squarespace web designer, plant-based food enthusiast, clarinetist and nature lover, with a passion for minimalist business practices and simple, kind living.

At the time of starting my web design business back in 2019, I was recovering from burnout and couldn’t work more than five hours a day. While I loved everything about web design, it wasn’t feasible for me to grow a profitable business doing custom designed website projects, when my work hours were limited… and in a way that was gentle on my nervous system and nurturing to my health.

As a web designer, you know that custom design projects are often not gentle on our systems or conducive to our wellbeing. Pouring hours into quoting, keeping up with multiple client requests and projects, juggling timelines and scope, writing lines of code (and all the rest!) – all while having to stay in your creative flow, does not often create a calm working environment.

And that’s how I discovered the One-Week Website Model.

Four years on, with 70 of these one-week websites under my belt, I’d say I’ve ‘cracked the code’.

I’ve spent this time not just perfecting the process, but creating everything that goes alongside it (hello ease-filled and editable templates!).

I now share what I’ve learnt with other web designers so you too can start scaling your business, earning more money, having more time for you, feel creatively fulfilled and care for your health, all while getting fantastic results and raving reviews from your clients.

More kind words from past clients

  • "The one-week website design and delivery is genius."

“It provides non-professionals of tech design a simple, cost effective solution with confidence.”

Tanya Street, The Wise Mind – psychologist, Oxford, United Kingdom

  • "I highly value how organised and streamlined the entire process was."

“The content planners are so helpful in organising my messaging and have become the backbone of my offerings. My website broadcasts to the world in a way that captures me and the essence of my work.”

Nicole Lee – Qigong teacher, Bass Coast, Victoria, Australia

  • "I felt supported the entire time and clear about every step of the process."

“The entire process was really organised and communication was outstanding. I love that you have thought of every little thing and had lots of helpful hints, articles and videos to cover everything.”

Marcella Jane, Sunday Muse Studio – photographer, Albury, NSW, Australia

Got questions? Let me help you…

  • Sure does! The project schedule document gives you an insider’s look into the entire process – what steps I take, why I do these steps and the timeline for each step – from initial sales enquiry, through to website handover and follow up. Plus you get the supporting email scripts and document templates needed to complete each step.

I know there’s a lot to consider when adding one-week websites to your offerings, which is why I’ve done as much of the work for you as I can, to guide you through all stages of the client journey and build process.

  • This delivery system teaches you how to deliver a one-week website, guiding you through all stages of the client journey – selling, building, reviewing and handing over a one week website to a client with ease.

So while it doesn’t teach you how to create a template or base design, it will highlight exactly what pages and elements to add to your template so that you can create one that complements the one-week website model.

To learn how to create a template, I highly recommend Standout Squarespace (that’s an affiliate link btw!). Students have combined Rache’s course with my delivery system, giving them the tools to both build a template and then deliver that template — literally giving you everything you need to start offering one-week websites to your clients.

  • The delivery system is specifically focused on delivering one-week websites. However, some of my past students who were curious about my brand kits, purchased option 2 of the delivery system and we discussed the brand kits during our mentoring session.

  • These templates are not platform specific. They focus purely on the business process of delivering a one-week website and support you in clearly communicating with your clients.

Some sections do mention Squarespace (because I’m a Squarespace designer), but you can easily swap this out for your preferred platform. Whether you offer one-week websites on Squarespace, Wordpress, Wix or something else, these templates will very much still work for you.

  • The calendar proposal, welcome guide and handover templates are in Adobe XD format, which is incredibly easy and intuitive to use (think drag and drop functionality all the way!).

You’ll also receive instructional videos on how to edit the template to bring it into alignment with your brand.

The email scripts and website starter kit are in Word format so you can easily copy and paste the emails and adjust the kits for your own clients.

  • All the images used in the templates are free images sourced from either Unsplash or Pexels. You are most welcome to continue to use these images, although I recommend you swap these out for your own branded imagery.

  • Yes absolutely. The fonts used in the templates are Adobe fonts so you will need an Adobe subscription if you wish to use these. Alternatively, you can easily swap the fonts to bring them into alignment with your branding.

The colours can also be easily changed to bring them into alignment with your brand too.

And you’ll receive instructional videos on exactly how to do this – it’s very easy and fast.

  • You sure can! When you purchase this delivery system, you are also purchasing a license to use the words inside these templates for your business.

The wording inside the templates is the exact wording I use inside my business and has been crafted and refined over three years from my own experience of creating 70+ one-week websites. This is a tried and tested process that works.

You don’t have to write your own content or second-guess your process. You can simply just follow the templates, plug in your business and client details and you’re good to go.

However, please note that the process and wording inside these templates can only be used for your client projects and process. The information cannot be shared, sold or repurposed for use on your website as either sales page copy or as a free resource (like blog articles or on social media) or paid resource (like courses or coaching).

  • Even if you don’t have a base design created yet, I would still recommend signing up to the delivery system now because the system can actually help you create your first base design. It will highlight exactly what pages and elements to add to your base design, so you can create one that complements the One-Week Website Model.

  • The great news about having your own design business is that you can do and offer whatever you like! You definitely don’t need to change your business model in anyway. You could simply add the one-week website model as an additional offering. In fact, this is a great way to offer a medium price point for those clients who perhaps cannot afford or do not want to invest in a full custom project – so it actually opens you up to another market. I used to offer both custom and one-week website projects. But over a couple of years, I transitioned to a full one-week website model purely because I was enjoying it so much more than my custom projects. But I know other designers who offer both custom and one-week services.

  • You can absolutely use this delivery system for your custom projects. While it has wording in it that is related to the one-week website model, you could very easily tweak the document templates and emails and start using them for your custom projects, saving you lots of time, energy, stress and money! In fact, the process and templates will help you streamline and deliver any kind of design project with ease – whether that be a custom project, one-week project or otherwise. This gives you double bang for your buck!

  • I don’t find marketing for one-week websites to be any different than marketing for custom design work (I used to also offer custom projects as well as one-week websites). So, to the point of needing a large email list for this offering, that’s definitely not needed. In fact, my own mailing list is very small.

Most of my work comes from Google searches due to the sales pages for my one-week websites having strong search keywords for the industries I'm targeting and a big chunk from referrals due to my clients loving the whole process and outcome we got for their website.

I also find that marketing for one-week websites can, in many ways, be easier than custom projects because clients can actually ’see’ the design they are wanting to buy before they invest and that can create a lot of calm and safety for them.

  • Yes. We can do a two-month payment plan for you. Please email me.

  • If you’ve purchased the option with a personal coaching call, you’ll receive an email from me within 72 business hours to book in a time together and you can use your coaching call anytime within three months of purchasing the delivery system.

  • Due to the digital nature of these products, there are no refunds. Please purchase wisely or reach out to me alana@alanajadestudio.com if you have questions before purchase.

I love to see you using the templates to guide your website process and support and add value to your clients. You are free to use these templates and the copy provided in these templates for your own business.

However, when purchasing the templates you agree to only use the process and wording inside for your client projects and process. The information cannot be shared, sold or repurposed for use on your website as either sales page copy or as a free resource (like blog articles or on social media) or paid resource (like courses or coaching).
