Brand Kit FAQs

Got questions about our semi-custom brand kits? Let us help you.

Inclusions

  • Our kits are semi-custom brand kits, which means some elements are customisable while other elements are fixed.

Logos and brand marks are not customisable – they will simply have your business name and initials added while retaining the look and feel you see in the brand kit examples. Illustrations are not customisable either.

Your colour palette and fonts will be custom-selected for your business by our experienced branding expert, based on your responses to a branding questionnaire and to complement your photography and existing business assets (you will have one round of revisions to review and tweak the selected colours and fonts).

Social media template layouts are set but will be updated with your logo, brand marks, custom colour palette and custom font system.

  • Yes, absolutely! Each kit comes with a colour palette selected uniquely for your business while also meeting Accessibility Standards. This is one of the ways we ensure your brand looks unique and speaks to your ideal customers while being inclusive and accessible to people of all types of abilities. Our brand specialist has years of experience and, can we say, she pretty much nails this every time! You’re going to love what we create for you.

  • At the start of our project together, you’ll fill in a branding questionnaire which will help us understand your business, needs and style. From here, we’ll make some recommendations around what fonts would be best for your business. You’ll have the option to purchase custom premium font licenses (typically the cost is between $30-$100 for custom fonts) or we can suggest free alternatives if necessary.

  • Accessibility standards help ensure all elements of your brand — your website, copy and other collateral — can be easily read and understood by people of all types of abilities, including folks who are visually impaired, hearing impaired, or have physical or psychological disabilities.

A common issue we see among DIY brand colour palettes is a low contrast level, meaning when text is layered over a brand colour it becomes hard to read, especially for people with vision impairments. Similarly, DIY font pairings often include script fonts (those that look like handwriting or calligraphy) that are difficult to read.

We follow a kind business and design philosophy and, while we don’t specialise in accessibility, we care deeply about creating kind websites and branding that meet accessibility standards. When creating your brand, we aim to ensure the colour contrast meets AA accessibility standards (and can also meet AAA when requested). We use minimal, easy-to-read fonts and recommend steering clear of script fonts. We can also provide additional resources if full accessibility compliance is needed.

  • Our branding kits are super flexible and have been used by many types of businesses and industries. If you’re not sure, that’s totally OK. Book a chat with Alana and she can guide you on which brand kit will appeal to your target audience.

Making your brand unique

  • Our kits come with a custom colour palette and fonts unique to your business. You also get lots of different brand marks, illustrations and icons, which you can pick and choose from when creating visual graphics. So, rest assured that your brand will look unique. Plus we limit the number of kits sold to only 10 businesses. So you can be sure your brand is not going to look like anyone else.

  • Exclusive to 10 businesses, after which the kit is taken off the product shelf. This ensures your brand is unique and not seen everywhere else.

Extra requests + customisations

  • Yes! If you already have a logo you love, we can combine this with one of our kits – we’ve had several clients do this. Here’s an example of a client who brought along their own logo and mixed it with the Willow Brand Kit. We will ask for you to provide all your logo files so that we can export them into your new colour palette. There is a small extra fee for this so we suggest booking a chat with Alana to get a quote.

  • Yes, that’s totally possible. Many of our clients have added on additional items to their kits such as extra social media templates, business card designs, book covers, presentation slides, client document templates and marketing materials. Book a call with Alana and we can discuss.

  • We sure do! In fact, if you purchase a brand kit and website package bundle, you get a BIG discount. Find out about our website services here.
